Businesses are changing their names, products, policies in response to the recent rise of social unrest. A brewery here in Fort Wayne is using their voice through the very own product of beer.
2Toms brewing Company was approached by Weathered Soul Brewing Co. to join more then 900 other breweries all over the country to bring awareness to the injustice that people of color face every day. Two times has created their own limited craft beer called Black is beautiful.
"The tap room is always a space where people can have conversation. We want the beer to be a vehicle to raise awareness of our own community of the social unrest that's going on. We need to step up to help our brothers and sisters." says 2Toms Brewing owner, Tom Carpenter.
All proceeds from Black is beautiful goes to Fort Wayne united, to enhance opportunities and to advance youth advocacy for African-American men and boys. Tonight they celebrated the release of the beverage with remarks by Iric Headley, Fort Wayne UNITED Director, and Joe Jordan, Fort Wayne UNITED Co-Chair.
