Pizza and beer has always been a worthy pairing. A new line of frozen pizzas has beer baked into it.
Milwaukee-based Palermo Villa, Inc. and Leinenkugel Brewing Company are debuting the 'Za Brewski line under the Screamin' Sicilian brand, the companies announced Monday.
The frozen pizzas have a beer-infused crust. The pizza crust uses Leinenkugel's Original, a classic American Pilsner brewed with pale malts and cluster hops.
The beer-infused crust pizzas come in four flavors: Philly cheese steak, pepperoni, hot Italian sausage and pepperoni, and BBQ meatball. The pizzas have either a beer cheese sauce or a beer barbecue sauce.
Leinenkugel's has been brewing beer in Chippewa Falls since 1867.
Among the stores where the new pizza will be sold are Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Sendik's, Woodman's, and select Pick 'n Save and Metro Market stores.
The pizza maker also recently announced a collaboration with Wisconsin's Johnsonville for a brat pizza.
