Wayne County Dairy Princess Kailey Kuhn is stopping by area farmers markets to support Fill a Glass with Hope, the first statewide charitable milk program for families in need.
All donations will benefit Finger Lakes residents in need.
Kuhn will visit the Newark Farmers Market from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 20, Marion Farmers Market from 3 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 21, Lyons Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 22, Wolcott Farmers Market from 1 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 24, Walworth Farmers Market from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 25, Sodus Farmers Market from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 and Clyde Farmers Market from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.
Milk is one of the most requested items by food bank clients, yet is rarely donated because of its perishability. All donations made to Fill a Glass with Hope will be used to purchase milk from area processors at a discounted price.
Fill a Glass with Hope was initiated by dairy farmers and American Dairy Association North East.
