Everything else has gone virtual, so how about a wine tasting event for a good cause?

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Delaware Valley’s 10th annual Grapes & Grain South Jersey wine tasting event will be held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A professional sommelier will host the online event on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.

Participants can pick up a wine tasting “kit” prior to the event at sponsor Super Buy Rite Liquors in Williamstown, according to a press release.

The kits include two hand-selected bottles of wine, wine bag, wine glass, corkscrew and a charcuterie pairing from Rastelli’s Market Fresh in Deptford.

“About 30,000 people in the U.S. suffer from Cystic Fibrosis, and those living with CFF are particularly at risk of contracting COVID-19,” said Mike Sanchez, Grapes & Grain Committee co-chair. He is the father of two young children with Cystic Fibrosis.

“Events like this, even when they can’t be held in person, are funding advances in research, which can significantly improve lifestyle, prolong life, and ultimately lead to a cure,” Sanchez said.

The evening will include a discussion of the wines and a communal sampling, along with an online silent auction and the opportunity to “bid for a cure.”

General tickets are $85 and include a tasting kit and online access to the event. VIP tickets are $125, and include the tasting kit, online access and a bottle of champagne.

Couples can attend for the price of one ticket, and a portion of all ticket prices is tax-deductible. To purchase tickets visit: https://events.cff.org/grapesandgrain. Ticket sales will close Aug. 19.

Other event sponsors include Sycomp, Lucca, J&J Snack Foods, and Holman Ford Automotive.
