
Another dairy distribution drive-thru is planned for area families tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3:00 at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds, located at 5330 Rowland Road.
The event will donate more than 4,000 gallons of milk from processor Upstate Niagara Cooperative and 16,000 pounds of additional food from Renzi Foodservice.
Each vehicle will receive two gallons of milk and one food box containing 20 pounds of produce – a total of 800 food boxes will be distributed, while supplies last.
All drivers and passengers must remain in their vehicles and will be prompted to open their trunk to receive milk.
If cars do not have a trunk, they will be prompted to open their window.
Walk-ups will not be permitted. No registration or paperwork is required for this distribution.
By the end of August, more than 500k gallons of milk will at giveaways that began in June, which partner American Dairy Association Northeast, USDA-approved purchasing partners and local community organizations.
Funding comes from grants through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) and Nourish New York.
