Preview: Beer Taste Test - San Fernando Valley Business Journal

Under Los Angeles County Public Health Department regulations during the coronavirus pandemic, breweries cannot have their tasting rooms open unless they have an on-site kitchen to serve food.

If a brewery wants to utilize a food truck or a third-party restaurant to meet the requirement, no luck. Brew masters interviewed by the Business Journal can't understand why consumers can eat dinner safely on the patio of a restaurant, but they can't serve beer on their patios.

"It is very unfair," said Derrick Olson of 8One8 Brewing Co. in Canoga Park.
