The holidays will be here before you know it. “Christmas comes but once a year,” but it always seems to come extremely early. So do holiday movies.
One of the most popular holiday movies is “Elf.” Released in 2003, the now iconic movie starring Will Farrell, Zooey Deschannel and James Caan, has gone on to inspire the creation of a Broadway musical, an animated special and even a video game.
Add to those a breakfast cereal, because according to Best Products -- the popular seasonal movie now has a cereal named after it, thanks to General Mills.
It seems only fitting that the cereal is made of maple-flavored corn puffs, because according to Buddy the Elf, there are four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup. General Mills decided to put maple syrup in the cereal – and not on spaghetti like Buddy did in the film.
Buddy would also be pleased with the additional of marshmallows, in this case becoming more festive in the shape of green and red trees.
At this time, there is no date given for when the limited-edition Elf cereal will be on grocery shelves, but I have a feeling they’ll also be here before you know it.
So, don’t be a “cotton-headed ninny muggings,” boxes of the cereal shouldn’t be too expensive. Elf cereal is estimated to cost $2.50 for a mid-size box and $3.99 for family-size.
