Taco Bell may be in the midst of a makeover of its menu, but the fast food chain is still coming out out with new items as well. To celebrate the release of the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa in Canada, Taco Bell is also selling a custom made wine designed to pair with the chalupa, according to Forbes.
Known as the Jalapeno Noir, the wine was created by at the Queenston Mile Vineyard in Ontario, Canada. In a release announcing the wine, the company says the chalupa pairs perfectly with the wine, because it “complements notes of wild strawberry, cherry and beetroot in this silky limited-edition red wine.”
The chalupa recently hit Taco Bell menus across Canada and will be on menus in the U.S. in November. However, Taco Bell did not say if the wine would be available in the U.S.
“Wine and cheese are simply meant to be together, so launching a new wine to go with the craveable, cheddary Toasted Cheesy Chalupa made perfect sense,” said Kat Garcia, Taco Bell’s director of brand marketing in a statement. “At Taco Bell Canada, we love to raise our glass to big, bold ideas that elevate our menu items, and pairing our Toasted Cheesy Chalupa with this Jalapeño Noir is no exception.”
Bottles of the wine retail for $25 Canadian and will be available in select stores and online at the Taco Bell website. Three different “collector’s edition” labels will be available for those who want to complete their collection.
