At this point, nothing that Rob Gronkowski says should surprise any of us.
But only Gronk could take a question about catching back-shoulder fades from Tom Brady and compare it to a saying from his mom that has to do with maple syrup, butter, and drizzling.
During his media availability Thursday, Gronkowski was asked about his ability to make great catches on back-shoulder throws from Brady, like the one he caught for a touchdown in Sunday’s 45-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Entertaining as ever, his answer was vintage Gronk, and his deeper explanation of his mom’s one-liner didn’t seem to clear things up much (via ESPN’s Jenna Laine):
I ask Rob Gronkowski about back-shoulder fades with Tom and he starts talking about his mom, butter and maple syrup.
And now all I want are pancakes.
