The Adler Planetarium on Tuesday announced an out-of-this-world mission.
In their latest collaboration, the planetarium and Empirical Brewery have debuted Space for Everyone, a new kettle sour beer, just in time for the holidays.
The new brew is available on-tap/to-go at Empirical’s Ravenswood location (1801 W. Foster), Lakeview Taproom, Rewired Pizza Cafe and Bar, The Flagship Tavern & Grill, The Village Tap and LUSH Wine & Spirits , as well as in cans at select Chicago-area retailers.
As part of an ongoing partnership between the planetarium and the brewery, 25% of proceeds from the sale of the beer will support Adler’s online programming.
“This partnership with Empirical helps the Adler advance our mission and connect with our community,” said Ryu Mizuno, the Adler’s vice president of marketing. “There’s space for everyone in our fun, inclusive, digital space science programs, and now our audiences can find Space for Everyone at home in the fridge, too.”
According to Tuesday’s announcement, the inaugural batch is brewed with pilsner malt, raw wheat and Northern Brewer hops with peaches and plums added during the fermentation process. The result: “light and easy drinking; tart, fruity and floral with a malty finish.”
The beer is available at Binny’s (Lakeview and South Loop locations), the Whole Foods Edgewater location, and a variety of retailers, restaurants and bar locations around Chicago. Visit empiricalbrewery.com for a complete list.
