HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – Mark your calendars: The Rustic Grill at StoneWater Golf Club is planning a Big Reds wine tasting and dinner pairing.
The five-course, five-wine dinner will be 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5.
Vintage Wine Distributor’s Cory Deibel will team with StoneWater chefs for the dinner.
The menu:
• Arctic char – frisee, arugula, Roquefort, toasted hazelnut, braised red beets, blood-orange vinaigrette. Wine: 2016 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
• Wagyu hanger – barley risotto, romanesco, maitake mushrooms, truffle beurre blanc. Wine: 2016 Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella.
• Braised pork shank – pumpkin crème-fraiche spaghetti, pearl onions and sage leaves. Wine: 2018 Nickel & Nickel DeCarle Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
• Duck confit – gently pulled, wilted kale, chevre potato terrine, luxardo cherry, duck crackling, pan jus. Wine: 2017 Opus One.
• Gingerbread cake – cranberry gelee, dipped in dark chocolate, hazelnut, spiced cranberry orange mousse, candied kumquats. Wine: 2017 Dow’s Vintage Port.
Cost is $150. All featured wines will be available for purchase that evening with a 10% discount.
