An Incoming Brewery Will Specialize in Yuzu Fruit Beers

The newest Portland brewery is all about utilizing the Japanese citrus yuzu. Shimai Toshi Brewing, which translates to “sister city” in Japanese, is a collaboration with Ian Marshall, who owns a fig and citrus farm in Boring, Oregon. Marshall is one of the only farmers to grow yuzu in Oregon, supplying citrus for places like ramen shop Afuri. Zoiglhaus Brewing’s Alan Taylor helped develop the brewery’s first beer, a yuzu lager for Afuri. Shimai Toshi is also contemplating non-beer offerings, like a yuzu hard seltzer. Find the initial beer at Afuri and bottle shops like John’s Marketplace. [New School Beer]

Killer Burger Opens Its Fourth Portland Location

Oregon chain Killer Burger has started selling burgers for online orders at its new NE Russell location. Last year, the brand announced that it would take over the space once home to Russell Street Barbecue. The new space will specialize in takeout and delivery beer and burgers for now, and will begin accepting walk-ins on January 25. Until then, people can order via third-party apps or the online ordering site. The restaurant is located at 325 NE Russell Street. [EaterWire]
