BEDFORD, Ohio – Magna Wine Boutique, which opened last year in Bedford, has launched its own wine brand, the Magna Wine Collection.
The boutique wine shop’s own wines and their tasting notes:
Chardonnay Select: Toasted hazelnut and mandarin, bright acidity and minerality, with aromas of lychee, stone fruit, citrus, golden apple and peach. The finish has notes of lemon zest and caramelized sugar, $24.99.
Gateway Red: Fruit-forward blend of Zinfandel and Carménère with aromas of bing cherry, strawberry and roasted fig. Raspberry, blackberry and pomegranate cross the palate, $26.99.
The Final Course: The wine – 100% Concord – has a long, fruity finish and pairs with dessert, $21.99.
The grapes are from Lodi, California, and the wines are available for shipping or pickup at the store.
Magna is a family-owned, Black-owned, HBCU graduate-owned small business that opened in May 2020 in Bedford. Owners Brittany and Dre Wiley aim to demystify wine to their customers.
Magna is at 692 Broadway Ave., Bedford. Its second location is slated to open soon at 2115 Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls.
Other wine shops have launched a line in their name. Karla Walters, who co-founded 750ml with her husband Jim, launched One Three, a Sauvignon Blanc, in 2014. She collaborated with winemaker Jay Buoncristiani on the wine, a 2012 vintage from Napa Valley, California.
