Long after the Napa Valley wildfires of 2020 ravaged the region, thousands of people and businesses are still suffering. Fortunately, help is at hand thanks to Oakville-based, boutique wine producer, C. Elizabeth Wines: From February 1st through March 15th, 2021, the winery will donate 50 percent of all sales of its hallmark, C. Elizabeth Game Farm Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017 to the Napa Valley’s ongoing fire relief efforts in cooperation with Napa Valley Community Foundation. Valentine’s Day sweethearts who purchase the wine can savor every sip of the opulent, single vineyard-designated Oakville Cabernet on the big day, with the added satisfaction of knowing that their wine purchase is doing double duty to help fire victims get back on their feet.
"We are deeply indebted to the Napa Valley community for its generous, ongoing support of our family business," explain Dave and Christi Ficeli, owners and co-founders of C. Elizabeth Wines. "We were lucky to be spared in 2020, but many of our friends, neighbors, fellow winemakers and growers were not -- and they continue to struggle. This program, in partnership with Napa Valley Community Foundation, is the perfect way for us to show our love of community in difficult times."
Adds Terence Mulligan, President of Napa Valley Community Foundation, "We are delighted to partner with C. Elizabeth Wines in this important fundraising effort. Their donation, timed to Valentine’s Day and beyond, is an important and loving reminder that long after the flames are extinguished, fire victims still need our help – often for months or even years to come."
C. Elizabeth Cabernet Sauvignon, Game Farm Vineyard is crafted with grapes from what may be the rockiest plot in all of the Napa Valley – the incomparable "Rock Pit" block. There, vine roots have to dig deep for water and nutrients, yielding a wine with exceptional depth, character and flavor that authentically reflects its pedigreed Oakville, Napa Valley site.
