CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Gofundme page has been established for the Platform Beer Co. Columbus taproom workers who quit Saturday.
The employees allege unsafe working conditions; the company has pledged better communication. The taproom remains closed.
The page’s creator is listed as Kirsten Brademeyer, who identifies herself “As a close friend of one of the former employees and a craft beer enthusiast.” The page’s title is “Support and Solidarity with Platform Workers.”
As of Tuesday morning, $2,740 of a $4,000 goal had been met. Among the 91 donors is an entry from Noble Beast Brewing Co. for $300. Shaun Yasaki – an award-winning brewer who worked at Platform in Cleveland when it opened in 2014 - owns Noble Beast, the Cleveland-based brewery.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, six employees worked at Platform’s Columbus taproom.
