Bolder, full-bodied reds like cabernet sauvignon turn bad more slowly than lighter-colored and lighter-bodied reds, like grenache or zinfandel. Full-bodied reds may last up to seven days, while lighter options, including pinot noir, may turn between three to five days. Some older wines, particularly those aged for 10 years or more, can even turn bad within a day or two.
