Polar Park beer guide: Prices, maps, best places to get a beer, seltzer or mixed drink at WooSox games - MassLive.com

sela.indah.link

WORCESTER — If you’re going to Polar Park and want to grab a beer at the game, the basics are pretty simple.

Domestic beer can, 24 oz. - $9

Craft/import beer can, 16 oz. - $10

Hard Seltzer can - $10

Basic mixed drink - $10

Beer in a souvenir cup, 20 oz. - $11

Premium mixed drink - $14

The limit is two drinks per purchase, with last call during the seventh inning. There’s supposed to be an $8 draft beer option for domestic beers. But those aren’t available yet.

Those are the basics. But the actual beers available will depend on where you go get a beer. The spot with the best selection, Craft Corner in right field, is loaded with $10 craft options. The Coors Light Home Plate Bar is the go-to spot for a quick $8 beer run. Most concession stands will either have can or draft beer options to go with food.

In fact, there are only two concession stands in the park where you can’t get a beer: The Coney Island Hot Dog stand and the Dippin’ Dots cart (both of which are next to the giant Harpoon Taps location atop the Worcester Wall).

That’s enough general info, here’s a breakdown of each spot in the park to grab a beer, which beers you can grab and how much it will cost.

(Disclaimer: This information is all subject to change. This is all based on the concessions as of the first week of Polar Park being open. More options will open up as the season continues, with beer availability likely to change as well.)

Polar Park

Craft Corner in Right Field (Nick O'Malley, MassLive)

Located: In right field, just in front of the Worcester Wall

In terms of setting, beer options and view of the field, this is the best place in the park to get a beer. The only downside is that there will likely be a crowd. Fortunately, the park is starting to rein in the chaos to bring some order to this beautiful deck seating spot right in front of the right-field foul pole.

Craft Corner features a fully tapped bar with as wide a selection of craft beers as you’ll find in the park -- both on tap and in the cooler. You can either take your beer to go or try to snag one of the prime tables that gives an awesome view down the right-field line.

What to get: During the opening week, this was the only place to get the Soul Purpose CrushGroove IPA on tap. Soul Purpose is the lower-ABV spinoff of Worcester’s Greater Good Brewing Company. Taps are bound to change as the season goes on. But if you’re looking for flavor IPA that isn’t too heavy in the summer, CrushGroove is an awesome choice from a local brewery.

Beers available:

Greater Good (Draft/Can)

Wachusett Brewing (Draft/Can)

Sam Adams (Draft/Can)

Blue Moon (Draft/Can)

Coors Light (Draft/Can)

Wide selection of cans in the cooler, including Sam Adams, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Greater Good, Modelo, Corona, Wachusett, Harpoon, New Belgium Yuengling

Also: White Claw and Arctic Hill hard seltzers in cans

Polar Park

Coors Light Home Plate Bar (Nick O'Malley, MassLive)

Located: Directly behind home plate on the concourse

Don’t want to deal with a beer crowd? Just want to grab a couple of beers and go back to your seat? This is the ideal spot to grab a beer and get back to your spot.

The Home Plate Bar has multiple lines and cashiers, so it’s going to move more quickly than your standard bar. Plus, it probably has the best overall selection of drinks in the park, ranging from local craft beers, a wide selection of domestic cans and even wine and mixed drinks.

What to get: The range here is real wide. If you’re going for craft, check out the local beers on draft. If you just want a big light beer, this is the spot to grab a Coors Light or Miller Light while missing the least action possible.

Beers available:

Greater Good (Draft/Can)

Wachusett Brewing (Draft/Can)

Sam Adams (Draft/Can)

Blue Moon (Draft/Can)

Coors Light (Draft/Can)

Yuengling (Draft)

Harpoon (Draft)

Selections of cans includes: Miller Lite, Coors Light, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Wormtown, Greater Good, Wachusett, hard seltzers

Also available: Wine and mixed drinks

Polar Park

Harpoon Taps on the Worcester Wall (Nick O'Malley, MassLive)

Located: Right-center field behind the Worcester Wall

Tucked way out in right-center field, the Harpoon Taps are easy to spot when looking at the Worcester Wall. While Harpoon is the headliner, this is a fully stocked bar that has a wide range of drinks available.

If you’re bopping around the concessions on the right field wall or taking the game in from the seats on the wall, Harpoon Taps provides a quick in-and-out option to grab a beer and get back to the game.

What to get: Harpoon has a wide selection of light, summery beers that are good to keep you refreshed while sitting in the sun. There’s no shade for the Worcester Wall seats during day games, the Harpoon Rec League a good, light choice for that spot.

Beers available (as of the first week):

Miller Lite (draft)

Coors Light (draft)

Yuengling Lager (draft)

Harpoon Camp Wannamango (Draft)

Harpoon Big League (Draft)

Harpoon Rec League (Draft)

Harpoon UFO White Ale (Draft)

Harpoon IPA (Draft)

Also available: A full bar with mixed drinks

Draft Beer in a Souvenir Cup

Beers available:

Greater Good (Draft/Can)

Wachusett Brewing (Draft/Can)

Sam Adams (Draft/Can)

Blue Moon (Draft/Can)

Coors Light (Draft/Can)

Wide selection of cans in the cooler, including Sam Adams, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Greater Good, Modelo, Corona, Wachusett, Harpoon, New Belgium Yuengling

Also: White Claw and Arctic Hill hard seltzers in cans

Polar Park

The Wormtown Brewery pop-up stall (Nick O'Malley, MassLive)

Located: Main concourse, first-base side behind the picnic tables

Tucked away on the first-base side on the outer wall of the park, this might be the most underrated spot to get a beer. The lines and crowds here are certainly thinner than any of the biggest concession stands in the park.

As the name suggests, the beer options here are limited to Wormtown Brewery (plus a couple of hard seltzer options). However, this stand does have a much deeper lineup, featuring both the Don’t Worry and Be Hoppy IPAs along with many of the breweries lagers and summer beers.

Beers available (as of the first week)

Wormtown Be Hoppy IPA (Draft/Can)

Wormtown Mass Whole Lager (Draft/Can)

Wormtown Welcome to Worcester Lager

Wormtown Summer Blonde Ale

Wormtown Table Talk Blueberry Lemon Pie Ale (Can)

White Claw Hard Seltzer (Can)

Also available:

Polar Water - $4

Peanuts - $2

---

That’s it for the primary beer vendors at the park. From this point on, all that’s left is a rundown of conventional concession stands that also serve beer.
