ALTOONA — Just in time for the kick-off to the summer season, Sheetz has unveiled a new, limited edition summer beer. The new strawberry and banana milkshake India Pale Ale — Project I Scream, Brew Scream — went on sale Friday afternoon May 28.
Brewed in partnership with Goose Island Beer Company of Chicago, Project I Scream, Brew Scream is brewed with Sheetz Bros. strawberry and banana puree. Sheetz describes the product as a “light and fruity beer with a kiss of hop to balance the strawberry sweetness.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the Goose Island Beer Company, one of the most successful breweries in the entire country, to create this delicious milkshake beer for our customers,” Ryan Sheetz, vice president of marketing and brand at Sheetz, said in a statement announcing the new product. “These last 14 months have been tough for all of us and as things start to improve in our communities, we’re hopeful this beer can lift the spirits of our customers as we embark on an exciting summer season.”
“Here at Goose Island we love brewing exciting beers for our drinkers and innovating with new flavors. Sheetz has released some fun, unique beers over the past year and we’re excited to brew this milkshake IPA with them,” Todd Ahsmann, president of Goose Island Beer Co., said in a statement, adding the IPA “leaves the drinker with classic summertime flavors.”
The milkshake IPA can be found at 489 Sheetz convenience stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia. Each store will carry approximately 30 4-packs, and will be available while supplies last. It will not be restocked once sold out. Four packs of sixteen ounce cans of Project I Scream, Brew Scream sell for $7.99.
The limited edition IPA will be available at five Berks County locations including Sheetz stores in Cumru, Exeter, Muhlenberg, Ontelaunee and Richmond townships. It is also being sold at several Lancaster County locations including Morgantown.
