PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER - BIRDSONG BREWING CO. 

Birdsong Brewing Company is in search of a passionate, self-motivated and hard-working individual with a “can do, will do" attitude to join our Production Team.  This position is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and operating our packaging equipment.  The perfect new team member will have production/manufacturing experience, willingness to drive a forklift, and an aptitude for troubleshooting basic mechanical systems.  

This position comes with the ability to grow. Experience dependent, we start everyone at the packaging level with the opportunity to train on all other aspects of the production department, including brewing!

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Perform kegging and canning operations with semi-automated machines.

• Ensure that packaging standards meet established guidelines.

• Follow Brewery SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) for sanitization, cleaning of equipment and operation of machines.

• Fulfilling general cleaning checklists for packaging equipment.

• Performing set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of canning line and supporting equipment/systems.

• Ensuring adherence to packaging schedule.

• Maintaining awareness of current packaging and sterilization advances and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

• Commitment to excellence and high standards.

• Experience with safety and sanitation protocol and policies and ability to follow all such policies.

• Hardworking, motivated, goal-oriented-individual with a strong sense of urgency.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain a must.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.

• Ability to work in unconditioned space

• An aptitude for trouble-shooting basic mechanical & electrical systems preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for the duration of the work shift and the employee must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

In 2010, husband and wife, Chris and Tara Goulet were ready for a change. Chris was tired of the corporate grind and Tara needed a break from managing a local bakery. A friend and co-worker at the bakery, Conor Robinson, was learning how to home-brew. Chris and Tara thought Charlotte was missing a small neighborhood brewery where folks could stop in for a pint or take home a growler of super-fresh, unfiltered, American-style ale. They invited a handful of close friends over to pitch a business plan and serve Conor’s beer, and Birdsong Brewing Company was born. 

From brewer to canning tech, everyone that works (and plays) together at Birdsong is dedicated to bringing you fresh, never-filtered craft beer.
