A Franklin bar appeared before the city Beer Board on Friday, receiving a fine.
Tony's Eat and Drink was accused of being a public nuisance and violating state law by serving underage patrons.
The board sustained its violations, eventually imposing a fine of $1,000.
The bar made headlines in October when a band member of country rock group The Mavericks was assaulted there. Trumpet player Lorenzo Molina Ruiz said he was attacked because he was speaking Spanish.
An anonymous complaint was lodged against the bar in late October that accused a bouncer of allowing an underage woman and her friends into the bar to drink alcohol. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission launched an investigation, which revealed that the bar continued serving "overly intoxicated" drinkers and allowed off-premises consumption of alcohol.
During the November investigation, TABC agents reported that a Tony's patron was charged with a DUI after hitting an EMS vehicle while driving. That same night agents reported they observed a man in the parking lot drinking a beer that he procured from the bar.
A joint investigation by the TABC and Franklin police revealed the bar wasn't following coronavirus guidelines. That night, TABC agents said, they watched four drunken patrons leave the bar, one of whom threw a traffic cone.
The TABC fined Tony's $3,000 after the investigation.
From Oct. 1 through May 10, Franklin police officers have responded to the bar for multiple offense reports, including:
- Assault: 6
- Disorderly conduct: 9
- DUI: 17
- Evading arrest: 3
- Resisting arrest: 3
- Criminal trespass: 1
- Weapon possession: 4
- Hit and run: 2
- Theft: 1
- Serving underage: 1
- Vandalism: 1
